Little Learners Preschool
It's hard to believe that it is now May, and soon it will be our graduation day! On Thursday, May 17th, 15 children will be graduating from the Little Learners Preschool. During graduation, the class will be sharing songs, poems, memories, and treats with their families. Everyone is looking forward to our last field trip of the year to the Racine Zoo on May 8th. Prairie Crossing eighth graders, Maggie Russ (a preschool graduate) and Cameron Gilbert, visited our 4 year old class in late February with an interactive presentation on water safety for animals.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Holly Harms, our graduating Parental Advisory Committee member. Holly has been involved with our program for 7 years as her 3 children went through our program, and has done the calendar, helped with fundraisers, substituted and volunteered in our classroom. Holly and her family have been some of our biggest supporters for years and we wish her and her family the best of luck. She will be missed by all of us. We are excited to have Parental Advisory Committee
members Meghan Dawson and Hannah Gross back next year. It is not too early to start thinking of school in the fall! We are accepting registrations for both of our classes now. We will be having an open house in July - keep an eye on the website for the date and more information. We offer 2 academic based programs. Our 3 year old class is for children that will be 3 on or before September 1, 2018 and our 4 year old/Pre-K class is for children that will be 4 on or before September 1,
2018. You can get more information and download a registration packet, including tuition rates, at www.grandwoodpark.net/preschool. Feel free to contact us by telephone at 847-356-1296 or by email at preschool@grandwoodpark.net to have a packet mailed to you or if you have any questions.

Our sincere sympathy and condolences to the family and many friends of Connie Brown. Connie passed away on March 16, 2018. She leaves behind her husband, Dave Brown, and children Coriena, Robin, and Amanda. Connie and Dave have lived in Grandwood Park for over 40 years and have been involved, as a team, in so many activities in our community over the years. She was such a sweet lady and it won't be the same seeing Dave driving around in that black pick-up without her driving shotgun. So long
Connie, we're going to miss you.

................................................................................................................................................. Annual Egg HuntThe Park District's Annual Egg Hunt was held on Saturday, March 31st and was a very blustery day. Held at Hutchins Athletic Field, and divided into 3 age groups, the area to search for eggs got larger and larger for each age group until it
almost took over the whole field! All told, there were 61 children who made Bunny Bookmarks, Bunny Whisker Sticks, snacked on treats and chased down many, many colorful eggs! The Easter Bunny attended as well to cheer on the children and pose for pictures. Each age group had one special egg that awarded the child who found it a Basket filled with goodies. A rollicking good time was had by all.
