Seed Funding Grants This funding will provide financial support as a seed-funding grant to establish investigator-initiated clinical trials / treatment research. The initial funding round specifically targets proposals investigating treatment options for substance use disorder due to methamphetamine or emerging drugs of concern. Key Dates: Grant applications will be reviewed by the independent National Clinical Research Network - Methamphetamine and Emerging Drugs Working Group All Round 1 funding applications are due to be submitted by: 28 October 2018 Who we areWe are a new centre bringing clinicians and researchers together to find and share new treatments that can make a difference to people’s lives. Our aim is to support clinicians and clinical services to detect and respond to new drug health problems. We will do this by building clinical capacity to conduct research, and rapidly translate these findings into clinical practice. We will work together with partners to drive innovation and excellence in the treatment of methamphetamine and other emerging drugs of concern. People who use drugs, their families and carers, and their communities, are at the core of what we do. Funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health, the Centre is formed by a consortium between: The National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction (NCETA, Flinders University); The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC, The University of New South Wales); The National Drug Research Institute (NDRI, Curtin University); and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
