The 2019-2020 school calendar is now available on our school website. Five-Year-Old Actors!The five year old class performed an outstanding version of the Three Little Pigs for parents and students this week. We are all so glad that the Big Bad Wolf became a good wolf once he became a vegetaian and started praticing yoga! Dutch CultureDo you know Anne Frank? You probably do. It is one of the famous Dutch people from history. In our Dutch cultural classes we are now exploring other historical important people. One of them is Hugo de Groot. He was on the wrong side in politics and was locked up in a castle. He managed to escape through hiding in one of the bookcases that brought in new books for him. Great story! The older students will investigate their own important person from history, while the younger students will learn about castles and knights! 11 yoc Math, Cultural Studies and ScienceStudents are completing their Essential Unit 6 for Data Collection & Analysis. This information will be useful as they will soon being their Spring MSA Science Project. Extensive data was gathered in their Fall Project. Using their new skills in Statistics they will analyze their survey data, evaluate and write a Summary Report as their Spring MSA project. In Cultural Studies they are preparing 3-D models, poster boards, and PowerPoint Presentations for their study of Ancient Egypt. In Science they are experimenting with Forces, Motion, and Fields (magnets). Creative Writing in Level 7The Level 7 Literacy students read about how schools are similar and different all around the world. Then, they imagined creating their own schools! Each writer wrote about what would make his or her school special. We hope to have these descriptive writing pieces published, illustrated, and on display outside the 7YOC by early next week. Please stop by to read about the school each 7YO Literacy student dreams of starting. Hint: you may learn about a driving school for babies, a unicorn riding school, a school for panthers, a space training school, and many more!
