Greg's Message

Dear Parents and Friends of St Anne’s

Thank you to the staff for their organisation of the parent information night last Thursday. It was great to see very healthy numbers of parents at all levels.

On Tuesday all staff had a productive professional development day updating our First Aid including anaphylaxis training.

We have a busy few days coming up. This Sunday from 2pm until 4pm we have our “all in” working bee. Some of the tasks we hope to undertake include:

  • gardening, weeding, pruning
  • adding tan bark to the junior playground
  • moving small, loose  branches from Presbytery front yard to dumper
  • reattach ball net onto middle pole on grass area
  • repairing “buddies” bench
  • remove 2 wooden benches near the senior playground
  • some rows of string to be put up in STEM room for hanging and display purposes

This Wednesday (March 17) and Thursday (March 25) we have our Open Days for prospective new enrolments from 9:15am until 11am. If you know of a family who has a child about to start Foundation next year please promote these days. Thank you.

Twilight Sports

Our whole school twilight sports will be held on Friday 19 March from 5pm until around 7pm. We will be having the sports this year at school. We ask that students arrive at school at 4:45pm. Parents please bring along a chair, snacks etc. As this is a student event no alcohol is permitted. Thank you.

Twilight Sports

TWILIGHT SPORTS
FRIDAY 19th MARCH 4:45pm - 7:15pm
ST ANNE'S SCHOOL

Pack your chairs, air your picnic rugs and stretch those muscles….the Twilight Sports is happening again in Term 1 at St. Anne’s Primary School.

This event is a much anticipated evening by the whole school. It is an evening where the children, with their families, get together for races, food and fun. We invite families to bring along a picnic basket on the night.

The children will meet at their house flags and will then rotate through the activities. The rotations will run from 5:00pm - 7:00pm, though we ask that the children are at the track from 4:45pm, dressed in their sport shorts and sport top or a top in the colour of their house.  The children should bring a drink bottle and school hat to take with them on their rotations. The evening should finish by 7:15pm.

In the lead up to the event we will be having a house colour meeting on Tuesday March 16th at 12:30pm in the playground area. This will give the children a chance to meet their house colour captains and practise some of the chants they will be singing at the event. Children can wear their sports uniform and a house colour t-shirt on this day.

ST ANNE’S BASKETBALL CLUB

NEW PLAYERS WELCOME + BALL SKILLS PROGRAM!

St Anne’s Basketball Club is looking for more players to add to some of its existing teams and to potentially start new teams for Year 2 students.

We are also offering our Ball Skills program for new basketballers during Terms 2 and 3 of 2021.

Please speak to us if your child is keen to start basketball!

We are a family based club and have 17 teams comprised of mainly current and former St Anne’s students playing in the Basketball Hawthorn competition, ranging in age groups from Under 9’s to U23’s.  Games are played on Saturdays (and Sundays for older teams) at venues throughout Boroondara.

The Ball Skills sessions will run on Tuesday nights at 6pm at Kew East Primary School for the remaining weeks of Term 1 and then in Terms 2 and 3.  The aim of the sessions is for the children to be ready to commence playing in a team in the 2021/2022 Summer Season for SABC which starts in Term 4 (or in the Winter Season if they are currently in Year 2 or older) .  We welcome boys and girls to the sessions.

Once we know the level of interest we will provide more details.

Please register your interest by calling Tom Lynch SABC Boy’s Co-ordinator on 0418 813 773 or Sarah Lethlean Club Secretary (mother of Will in Year 4) on 0438 364 709 or by emailing secretary@stannesbc.com.au.

We are keen to hear from you, as we are currently taking registrations for the Winter Season!
