Sexual Problems May Persist Two Years After Testicular Cancer Diagnosis

Many men cope with sexual and fertility issues after a testicular cancer diagnosis, and for about 25% of patients, those problems persist for at least two years, experts report in the Journal of Sexual Medicine. 

Low sexual satisfaction and low sex drive were two of the more commonly-reported issues. Some were concerned about their ability to father a child.

Scientists Study Fibrosis and Peyronie's Disease

Researchers think that fibrosis might be a clue to understanding Peyronie's disease and its treatment. 

Some experts believe that Peyronie's disease, which causes a distinct bend in the penis, occurs when a penile injury doesn't heal properly. In turn, fibrosis is one way the body responds to chronic inflammation.

Scientists analyzed the sexual function of two groups of men. One group ate 60 grams of nuts daily for 14 weeks. The other ate no nuts.

All of the men ate a typical western diet.
