Schizophrenia Patients Face Sexual Challenges
People with schizophrenia are more than twice as likely to develop sexual problems compared to people without this condition, according to a recent Journal of Sexual Medicine review.
Researchers analyzed 10 observational studies that discussed rates of sexual dysfunction in schizophrenia patients and healthy controls.
The authors noted that drugs used to treat schizophrenia often have sexual side effects. Religion and culture could influence sexuality, too.
