Legislature on Spring Break
|
After three intense months of budget building and policy work, the legislature will take an extended break until April 18. For BATC, our collaboration with the MN REALTORS on the Homeownership Initiative remains in play on several fronts. Active issues include legislation for the First-Time Homebuyer Savings Account, common interest community ownership, townhome definition alignment, housing rule oversight, and more. The challenge of finding compromises between the legislature and the Governor will be key to keeping the collection of proposals on track. Staff is continuing discussions with legislative leaders and the Governor’s staff as we prepare for an intense final five weeks of the session.
