It was great that we were all out of lockdown so students and staff could return to school prior to the vacation. Most students engaged really well with online learning and a big thank you to our parents for working to coordinate learning over the four weeks; a terrific effort!
This week students who nominated to be Captains for 2021 addressed their peers by presenting speeches via video. All of the candidates spoke very well and the school will have a quality team as role models and leaders for the remainder of this year and into 2022. Voting for these positions was held on Thursday and the successful applicants will be announced in Term 4. House Captains will speak to the student body and voting for those positions will be next term.
Students in Year 12 had their final day of official attendance at school today. Final preparation for formal examinations will continue over the first four weeks of Term 4. Many staff will be conducting lessons during regular class time during those four weeks prior to the HSC Examinations which will begin on Tuesday 9th November. Congratulations to all our wonderful and resilient students on your achievements during what has been a very challenging year. Well done and best wishes for the HSC examinations.
Students in Years 8 and 10 have completed their subject selections with some final tweaking being undertaken by them. As well, Year 11 students moving into Year 12 have now confirmed their pattern of study for their HSC year.
I would like to wish all students and staff a restful, happy and safe vacation. School resumes for all students and staff on Tuesday 5 October.

Despite the COVID lockdown and remote learning life at Camden Haven High School, the Ag Farm was still operating as per usual (almost). Our amazing Ag assistant, River, kept all the gardens maintained and watered and I'm sure you will agree that the grounds and lawns look fabulous.
The Ag plot potatoes are looking great. Looks like the radishes were getting away from us . Fortunately we are back now for winter harvest and spring planting. Sunland Seeds have generously donated half a kilo of sweet corn seeds for students to plant in their gardens.
Year 9 Agriculture students are back ... harvesting one of the potato beds.
More produce from the Ag Plot. Back at school just in time for harvesting.

Your Family Practice has now taken the opportunity to set up Pfizer vaccinations clinics for “Kids” on Saturdays, to help HSC students receive their vaccinations at the Lakewood Clinic, 106 Sirius Drive, Lakewood.
At this stage, we can confirm a day has been set up for Saturday 16 October. If there is sufficient demand, we will set up other days with smaller “kids” clinics.
HSC students can download our New Patient form from our website, email it to the practice, and we will be able to book them in for vaccinations. We will confirm appointment times directly with them via SMS.
We hope that this service reduces the stress for HSC students.
