Sid Shares #12SidShares Hi All! Here is my twelfth monthly dose of “Sid Shares.” A list of what I’m enjoying and exploring. (The picture above is of Freddie (3) and Bea (2)...I asked them to count and this is them doing so...so, so sweet :) It's been a whole year since I started these emails and I do hope you're still enjoying them! I love writing them as they've become a great way to reflect on what's happened, what's coming up and what to look forward to. At the moment there is a lot of talk of this 'new normal'. To me there is no 'new normal', there just is this. What we're all going through is what it is and making the most is what we do best. June is dedicated to 'being'. I recently finished a great book by Michael (Mickey) Singer called The Untethered Soul. I did mention him last month, but this book has had such a profound affect on me that I wanted to share his work again. If you can please do read it. One of the highlights was a brilliant question he asked "Do you want to be happy". So, so simple but such an easy one to answer. I often get stuck in negative thinking, procrastinating and looking back and this has helped so much. He did a great session with Tony Robbins last year which is well worth a watch. It's called 'Breaking Patterns and Finding Inner Peace'. Building on his great work lead me to a fantastic TED talk by Tasha Eurich 'Increase your self-awareness with one simple fix'. I won't give away her amazing insight, but when you hear how simple it is you'll love it too! This film is one we've been showing for years on our Meee courses and very appropriate for now. It's all about Neuroplasticity and how we can change our thinking and outcomes by thinking! Brilliant. It's only 2 minutes long and worth every second. And this one's short too! It's from The Graham Norton Show and features a true short story from Kevin Costner. It's all about how kindness was repaid and shows how you just don't know how things might turn out... A poem that feels more and more relevant is 'If' by Rudyard Kipling. As we continue on our new journey of social distancing and video conferencing here's an insight into the reality...
If you would like to, please give me feedback on email, Twitter or Facebook on any of the topics above. Or any thoughts you have or suggestions for the future. If you would like more information about Meee and the resources please follow this link. Here’s to just 'being' who you are in June. Just keep doing your best and being the best versions of you and you'll be ok. With love and blessings xxx |
