Director's Message

Dear All,

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition is a great opportunity for you to develop presentation skills in front of a non-specialist audience. It also helps to stocktake and refocus your thoughts about your research project, and increases your profile within the research and wider community. Registrations close 18 June and a training session is delivered by Hugh Kearns on 16 June. I am very curious and look forward to seeing all of your submissions.

I would like to remind students who have not previously applied for a COVID-19 extension, but whose research had been significantly impacted by COVID-19, to submit your COVID-19 extension request by the end of June. The FAQs on our website explain how to apply and what to attach.

For those of you who are stuck overseas due to Australia’s international border closure and are considering applying for a travel exemption, please get in contact with me via email and I will see if there is anything we can do to support your application with the Department of Home Affairs.

The next virtual HDR student catch up is scheduled for 18 June, please look out for Zoom details in your email inbox.

Until then, best wishes,
Doreen

Doreen Krumbiegel
Director, Adelaide Graduate Centre

Tip of the Month

When is the last time you checked to ensure that your contact and other details are correct with the University? Log into MyAdelaide, which is replacing Access Adelaide, to check and update your address details. Explore the new interface and extended information for HDR students.

MyAdelaide update: Release 2.1 – 10 June

You can now generate and print your full year enrolment confirmation letters for Centrelink. Please note: For students with a Negative Service Indicator (NSI), this functionality is deactivated. Semester-based enrolment letters will be available in a later release.

We’ve also introduced improved logout functionality, for greater security.

Except for exam timetables and enrolment letters, which are only available in MyAdelaide, all features will be available in both MyAdelaide and Access Adelaide until the old system is decommissioned towards the end of the year.

If you would like to know more, please visit the project page. We would love to hear from you & invite you to reach out and ask questions via email myadelaide@adelaide.edu.au.

While the majority of available scholarships are awarded as part of the standard admission and scholarship rounds for domestic and international students, some are awarded at different times throughout the year, and may have a separate application process.

Visit the Postgraduate Scholarships website regularly for up to date information on current scholarship opportunities.
