What's coming up...Auckland Women's representative teamDate: 23 January 2021 This Saturday our Auckland Women's Open squad heads to Mangawhai to compete against Counties Manukau Prem 1 and Northland Prem 1 and Prem 2 teams. The format comprises one x singles, two x pairs and one x fours. The 10 players selected are; Paris Baker, Catherine Bien, Jill Fraser, Karen Hema, Kimberley Hemingway, Estelle Hickey, Kirsty Hill, Ashleigh Jeffcoat, Lisa Prideaux and Linda Ralph. Selector Diane Harris and Manager Helen Blick accompany the team. Good luck and all the best ladies! Bowls3Five InterclubDate: 26 January – 16 February 2021 Bowls3Five is an exciting and fast format. The twilight competition has been designed to fit into today's busy lifestyle and is being played at a club close to you! Check out the draw, grab your family and friends and head along to support your favourite team. Aotearoa National BowlsDate: 5 – 7 February 2021 How exciting, this event has 82 teams from all over our beautiful Aotearoa competing over Waitangi Weekend in Tāmaki Makaurau.The format for this event is men's and women's teams of four. This tournament has been running since 1975. Way back then, it was a men-only event, with the women's event introduced much later in 1984. Te Atatu Peninsula is the headquarters with host clubs Pringle Park, Pt Chevalier and Glen Eden. Everyone is welcome, come along to watch all the action! Victory to Pt ChevalierPt Chevalier had a great turnout on 16–17 January to watch 18 teams compete in their Victory Cup Open Triples tournament.Tightly fought matches had the leader board changing each day with victory finally going to Graham Edwards and Jo McKenna. Winners: Graham Edwards, Jo McKenna with President Ian McKenna looking on adoringly!Friday 2-4-2 Have a GoThere's nothing like the offer of food to draw a crowd – and that's just what Blockhouse Bay Bowls is doing! The club is now offering meals following their Friday 2-4-2 Have a Go matches. And it seems to be working, they are seeing neighbours and social players turn up to play then stay for yummy family-friendly meals – all cooked by local business owner Liz.
