Access your copy of the white paper now > NEW FUCOIDAN RESEARCH Fucoidan restores blood cell production after chemotherapy New research shows that fucoidan can stimulate the production of immune and blood cells after chemotherapy. In a cyclophosphamide-induced mouse model, fucoidan increased the production of neutrophils and red blood cells, usually lowered by chemotherapy. These results offer potential applications for cancer patients after treatment. Beneficial thrombolytic activity of fucoidan confirmed A recent study has clarified the mechanism by which fucoidan acts as a thrombolytic agent. The study demonstrated that fucoidan can activate the thrombolytic enzyme, Tissue Plasminogen Activator, by competitively binding to its inhibitor. These findings pave the way for new research investigating fucoidan as a preventative or treatment for thrombosis. Fucoidan shows success in bone tissue engineering Researchers have investigated the use of fucoidan in bone tissue engineering. Fucoidan-modified bone scaffolds were found to induce bone cell differentiation and support the growth of pluripotent stem cells. These scaffolds show potential in a surgical setting where they can be used in the creation of safe and biocompatible bone implants.
