Languages Lost and Found events in Dundee - volunteers wanted
Languages Lost and Found is part of the Arts and Humanities 'Being Human ' festival and takes place on Sat 18 Nov 10am to 3pm.
Do you want to volunteer at this community event in Dundee at the Boomerang Centre, Kemback Street and in Dundee Central Library to promote languages and culture? Looking for native speakers and learners of a wide range of languages (Arabic, Chinese, Scots, Gaelic, French, German, Spanish, Greek, Italian, Russian, Polish, Lithuanian etc) to help to shape and run a programme of workshops and fun activities for people of all ages in the community on that day. The Archies book is now available to buy
The Archies book by the Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer Dr Paul Fettes, is now available to buy at www.archie.org Alternatively, you can buy it at Waterstones, Nicholson's cycles in Dundee, and The Watermill in Aberfeldy. All of the money from the book goes to the Archie Foundation.
The book tells the story of the Archie Challenge and explains the Archies, the 1000m Mountains of Scotland. Foreword by World Record-breaking round-the-world cyclist Mark Beaumont, original photos of the Scottish Highlands and a free A3 HarperCollins map of all 130 Archies.

Dundee scientists make Parkinson’s breakthrough
Scientists at the University have identified the structure of a key enzyme that protects the brain against Parkinson’s disease. The result of a decade of work, the research team said that solving the 3D structure and inner workings of the PINK1 enzyme represented a major breakthrough. Read the full story here.

Have you heard of Tough Mudder? Do you want to participate in a fun run/obstacle course with friends/family? Look no further, this is the place, here at the University of Dundee we have created Brave Runner.
This event is for everybody - Student, Staff, Dundee Community, it's for anyone who wants to take part. All we ask is for a small donation of £3 - this will go towards the referral programme at the University for Mental Health as part of the Healthy Body Healthy Mind project.

One of the University’s most recent Honorary Graduates, Dame Katherine Grainger, returns to give this year’s Dundee Christmas Lecture in partnership with Dundee City Council.
Katherine has enjoyed phenomenal success throughout her career and will talk about what she believes are the essential elements in forming a successful team and how this has helped her become one of Britain’s most decorated athletes. Book tickets.
