NEW RULES REGARDING USE OF THE EU HEALTH INSURANCE CARD 

On 1 August 2014 the rules were changed so that it is no longer possible to use the yellow health insurance card as travel insurance. Instead, you should use the blue EU health insurance card or take out private travel insurance.

JOIN EXPAT RECEPTION 2014 THIS SATURDAY AS PART OF THE AARHUS FESTIVAL

This Saturday 30 August Expat Reception 2014 will take place again as part of Aarhus Festival Week. Last year more than 800 expats and their families participated! At the reception, you can relax with your family and meet other expats. Sign up now

Aarhus’ Mayor, Jacob Bundsgaard, will welcome you and afterwards you can experience the Festival atmosphere while enjoying light refreshments prepared by chef Lars Kyllesbech, the founder of restaurant Mefisto. Moreover Manu from Florence, Italy, will serve his Italian ice cream – the perfect summer treat.

IT SYSTEMS ON A BREAK DURING THE WEEKEND 6/7 SEPTEMBER

Saturday 6 September and Sunday 7 September the power and IT-systems at Aarhus University will be maintained and optimised. Therefore the IT-systems will be shot down for a shorter period, and you cannot expect to carry out work, where you need access to the university’s IT.

REMEMBER TO REGISTER YOUR NEW ADDRESS!

If you are one of the new citizens of Aarhus, be sure to register your new address within 14 days after you have moved.

You are obliged to inform the National Registration/ Citizens Service  of your new address when you move. If you register too late the movement triggers a fine of 500 Dkr.

How do I move?
You must report your new address online at https://nemlog-in.dk/login.aspx/noeglekort  All you need is your NemID and your new address.

You must report your move within 14 days after you have moved, but you can do it earlier. You can register your new address up to one month before you move.

MEET THE NEW LÆRDANSK COORDINATOR ON CAMPUS SIMONA ION BÃDULESCU

My name is Simona Ion Badulescu and I am the new Lærdansk Coordinator on campus for all the international students and employees from Aarhus University. My role is to give counseling and offer all the necessary information you need in order to start your Danish education, answering any questions about Danish classes, enrolment, procedures or other practical details. I will help you choose the best and most suitable option so that the Danish language will be your first tool to get to know the cultural and social norms while in Denmark.

Copenhagen Capacity has created a panel for expats to share their experiences in Denmark.

The Expat Panel is your chance to share your opinion on the public authorities’ service provision for expats. The Panel has been created to ensure that expats have a great experience while living, studying, working, and staying in Denmark.

The organization behind the Expat Panel is Copenhagen Capacity who wants to map and understand the challenges that international talent experiences when living in Denmark.

You participation in the Expat Panel will be anonymous.

DEADLINE APPROACHING TO SIGN UP FOR CHINESE COURSE IN THE AUTUMN

It is still possible to sign up for Chinese courses for AU researchers in the autumn.
AU staff, including researchers and administrative staff, who is going to China or doing research related to China, is offered a preparatory Chinese course in the autumn semester 2014.

Deadline to sign up for the beginner course is 31 August.
