There are just a few days left to submit your nominations for our Unitec Excellence Awards - Ngā Tohu Kairangi o Wairaka 2019. Nominations close at 5pm, Tuesday 29 October.
There’s a category for everyone and it takes just 300 words to highlight your nominee’s contribution or achievement. Think about the people you’ve worked with who have exceeded expectations in a teaching or support role, have stood out for doing things differently or who are the ‘quiet achievers’ who contribute so much to
Unitec.

Awards
- Excellence in support: An individual in a support role who either supports our staff with systems and processes, or supports teachers to deliver education to our students, or directly supports students in their journey at Unitec.
- Innovation and Enterprise Award: An individual or team that has demonstrated innovation and/or enterprise. Open to all staff.
- Te Noho Kotahitanga Team Award: A team that has demonstrated excellence and has lived our values throughout the year. Open to all teams.
- Unitec Champion Award: An individual who has demonstrated all-round excellence and contribution. Open to all staff.
Teaching awards
- Excellence in Teaching: An experienced teacher, who has demonstrated excellence in their teaching for over five years.
- Kaupapa
Māori: A teacher who has demonstrated excellence in tertiary teaching in a Kaupapa Māori context, for over five years.
- Excellence in Early Career Teaching: An individual teacher who has been teaching for up to five years.
- Excellence in Research: An
experienced or early career researcher or research team, that has demonstrated excellence in their research for over five years.
