EXPAT RECEPTION 2015
Aarhus University and Aarhus Festival invite expats and their families to Expat Reception in the popup festival restaurant, The Festival Grill, on Saturday 29 August from 15.00 to 17.00.
See the invitation to the event. The event is free, but registration is necessary, so please sign up for Expat Reception 2015 or visit www.aarhusfestival.com.
At the reception, you can relax with your family and meet other expats. Last year 600 expats and their families participated.
You will be welcomed by the Mayor of Aarhus, Jacob Bundsgaard, and afterwards you can experience the festival atmosphere while enjoying some light refreshments prepared by chef Lars Kyllesbech, the founder of restaurant Mefisto in the old Latin Quarters. Moreover, you can get a special summer treat by Misto, who will thrill your taste buds with their flavourful Italian ice cream.
Aarhus University will be there represented by the University International Club (UIC), PhD House Activity Group and staff from the International Academic Staff Services.

NEW RATES FOR STUDENT FEES AT AAGE
The new rates for the academic term 2015/2016 have now been announced. AU staff can apply for student sponsorships to get reduced fees.
Important about the application procedure
Applicants should clearly state to the school that they would like the reduced fees prior to the school year.
Applicants need to forward documentation for employment at AU prior to the start of the school year.

The AAGE Administration including the Admissions Office is closed from July 10th - August 3rd 2015.

NEW CRASH COURSES IN DANISH IN AUGUST
Lærdansk yet again offers introductory courses to help newcomers getting familiar with the Danish language after the summer holidays. Deadline for sign-up is 19 August 2015.
If you want to have a quick start in Danish, then a Crash Course is the best option for you. It is structured in two intensive weeks, every day from Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 12.00.
The next Crash Course is in August, weeks 35 and 36, and will take place at International Centre. Please remember the deadline for registration is 19 August 2015.

More information in English will become available on an ongoing basis.
The purpose of the English websites is to help employees who don’t speak Danish find relevant and necessary information, which will make it easier to work at AU.
