After School Care Information

Middle School students may remain at the school until 4:00 pm daily. At this time, students must head home or participate in the after-school program. (Upper School students may remain at school until 4:30 pm, staying later only if involved in a supervised school activity.) After School Care, our after-school program, is a supervised setting for Middle School students who need to be at school until 6:00 pm each day or on a particular school day. After School Care is not available to non‐Northwest School students. This is a drop‐in program, so there is no need to register.

Students will be supervised in the library, and a small snack is provided. If you are a family on financial aid, please refer to The Northwest Experience Fund information to learn how fees for the after-school program are covered.

SchoolPass Information

During the return to school this past spring, we looked for ways to take attendance more efficiently and meet our goals around student safety. In previous years, students would sign their name on paper lists to record their arrival at school. This has become an unwieldy and now unsafe method to track who is on campus.

This fall, we are implementing a touchless, electronic system using SchoolPass for our Sign In/Sign Out process. All students will use SchoolPass to Sign In/Sign Out at any point of the school day.  Students with smartphones will be able to use a SchoolPass app. SchoolPass will send out an email for students to set up an account for the coming school year. Students will also have the option to sign in with a pre-printed QR code or a PIN number. Please contact Kevin Alexander with any questions.

Northwest School Spirit Wear

Northwest offers Spirit Wear via an online store. Items can be ordered at any time and picked up by appointment. For our apparel, we choose companies that have a commitment to fair practice and environmental consciousness. A critical part of The Northwest School philosophy is fostering a global perspective in our students. The Buddy Family Program offers an opportunity for domestic Northwest students and their families to establish a relationship with our international students outside the normal school day.
