Seeking Mentors – Adelaide-CSIRO Industry PhD (iPhD) Launch Camp

CSIRO is looking for academic or professional staff who are interested in becoming mentors for the upcoming Adelaide-CSIRO iPhD Launch Camp. Running from November 27th-28th, Launch Camp is designed to help iPhD teams think about research impact through the lens of customers or end-users. The role of a mentor is to share their experience and knowledge; provide a sounding board for ideas; and help teams to stay on track with their allocated tasks. It would ideally suit someone with a commercialisation or innovation experience. Being a mentor is rewarding and allows participants to engage more deeply in a research area outside of their own.  For more information or to express interest please contact Duncan Byrne before 5 November 2019.

International CaRST Program 2, 2019

The sessions for this current program are now nearing the end and the time seems to have whizzed past, yet again. We are about to commence a series of Practice Oral Presentations and there are a wide range of topics. These sessions are always very interesting especially in seeing that the students’ focus has become much clearer and more sophisticated. The collaboration and peer feedback which is at the heart of these sessions is one of the highlights.

Following this, students will continue working on their proposal drafts and meet with us for consultations and final completion which will occur in late November or December.
