Researchers found that after two weeks, patients who ingested fucoidan had significantly reduced levels of inflammatory cytokines. This research supports the future use of fucoidan to relieve inflammation in cancer. Anti-inflammatory benefits of fucoidan in gum disease New research has confirmed the anti-inflammatory effect of fucoidan in vivo and in vitro in gum disease models. In mice, fucoidan inhibited LPS-induced inflammation from disease-causing bacteria P. gingivalis, demonstrating its potential benefits as an adjunct therapy in infectious inflammation. Fucoidan prevents arthritis-related joint inflammation In an investigation into the benefits of fucoidan in arthritis, researchers have demonstrated its ability to inhibit joint inflammation. Fucoidan was shown to have strong antioxidant activity and reduce the production of inflammatory protein COX-2 in cartilage cells, as well as having an anti-inflammatory effect on arthritic rats.
