#25 Sid Shares Good morning, A very Happy July to you and yours. I hope you had a wonderful June and you got to see some sunshine. It sure does make a difference! Long may it continue. Here is my July monthly dose of “Sid Shares.” A list of what I’m enjoying and exploring. The above pic is of Freddie (left) and Beatrice (front) enjoying a play session in Notting Hill, London last weekend. We went to stay with Amy (their auntie) and Simon (family friend) for a two sleep stay. Having spent over 20 years living there it's great to go back and reconnect with people, places and the paces of metropolitan life. We met some amazing people and what I LOVE is that Freddie and Bea talk, play and smile at anyone and everyone. The children above didn't know each other and within seconds were giggling, laughing and chatting about stuff together. This is how we should all live...to find the joy and magic in everything we do and embrace every opportunity to connect, thrive and grow. I'm dedicating July to 'Magic'. It's such a wonderful word and the more I live the more I realise that this life is truly magic. Yes, it can be tough and mind-blowingly challenging, but when we take time to look around at the wonders of this thing we called life, it truly is magic. I was reminded of life's magic this weekend with the children on my trip to London to visit the Natural History Museum, the London Eye, a river trip from Westminster Pier to Woolwich and miles of walking in markets, shops and the many great parks there. The one thing that made it all magic was the people - Freddie, Beatrice, Amy, Simon and the many people we talked to, smiled at and shared a connection with. A truly magical weekend. I recently came across this lovely short film (10 mins) called The Simplicity of Happiness. It really helped me clarify the need to be a part of something bigger than just myself; to value the tools I have to serve others; and to enjoy the journey I'm on. We are all amazing and possess the ability to be remarkable. But many of us just don't know how. I know there is no shortcut to happiness, but I realise that I am at my happiest when I'm sharing my creativity with others. Far too often we lose the curiosity, creativity and wonder we have as children to pursue careers that leave us unfulfilled. This short film by Roberto Blake (5 mins) called A Wake Up Call To Creativity is a wonderful reminder of the magic we all possess. If you have a spare 90 minutes tune into Amazon Prime and watch the Sixtus Rodriguez - Finding Sugar Man documentary. I hadn't heard of him and after watching this and listening to his music was blown away with his genius. There really are some remarkable people on this tiny planet. There's a great quote in it "Nothing beats reality", which is a great reminder to us all. I've been hosting a series of podcasts and I recently recorded a session with Evrah Rose. Evrah is a truly brilliant poet and social activist up in North Wales. Her words and thoughts are so magically inspirational. I hope you enjoy them too. This quote is from the amazing William Butler Yeats, “The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” Please join me on my monthly Facebook Live sessions to help change or shift the energy in your life.
