New access created to Golden Bay beach

A South Island riding instructor’s drive to develop safe access to a Golden Bay beach has resulted in the creation of a new publicly accessible track across her family farm. The track, which will be officially opened on Sunday 10 August, stretches 2.2km from Grant Road near the Takaka-Collingwood Highway to Patons Rock Beach, northeast of Takaka. It provides access for horse riders, walkers, mountain bikers and other recreational users.
