In the past, Ms Dilorom set up an art exhibit to show the results of her students’ work. This year we are expanding the evening to present music and drama, too. From 1700 – 1900 hours, the talent of the QSID students will be on display. Beginning at 17:15, at intervals of every fifteen minutes and under the direction of Ms Audrey, the elementary students will perform plays based on stories they read in Library class. The 11 year-old class will perform a play they wrote themselves based on a novel they read with Mr. Black. At the same time there will be laptops set up in the cafeteria for presentations from the 12/13 music class and Instrumental Music class using technology to demonstrate musical skills. Finally, artwork of our students will be on full display in the art room. Those of you who came to this event last year know how wonderful that exhibit was. Students will again have their best work on display. We hope you plan to be at the QSID World Language building that evening to enter into the world of the arts! Collection for Ecobricks! Eco Schools is collecting plastic to help construct our ecobricks. Instead of throwing away your old plastic, give it to us so we can recycle it into an ecobrick. There are collection bags in primary and MS campuses. We need: · plastic bags · plastic wrappers · plastic packaging · plastic straws · other small, pliable plastics All plastic should be clean and free of food residue.
Sieneh Wold I am looking forward to the new academic year in Dushanbe. During my 25+ years in education I have taught several levels in lower elementary, but I am delighted to return to my true passion -- teaching five-year-olds. They come to school excited to learn and it is thrilling to be part of the fun. I love seeing the quantum leaps in knowledge that they achieve over the course ofthe year. I believe it is important that every student succeed, and I do my best to work with each individual so that they can reach their full potential and build a solid foundation for the rest of their elementary years. It is important, however, to never lose sight of the FUN factor that makes each day in class a joy. While I have enjoyed the sun and sea here in Djibouti, I am looking forward to living a place that is cooler, where I can wear a jacket once in a while. I also look forward to walking my dog, Terci, in a cooler climate. QIS International School of Dushanbe would like to thank Eastera for providing flags, Hilton for providing kurpacha during International Day and Cafe Merve for providing food during Lock in event. |
