Watching from the wings: Parents' perspective
One of the great joys of parenthood is watching your child grow, and the college years can be particularly rewarding for parents and families. While long past needing hand-holding, young adults at college are exploring the world in new and different ways. The parents of Samay Gohel, BBA ’22, share their perspective…
The faculty at the Fox School have encouraged Samay to think beyond a degree and explore studying law or getting a PhD. He has the flexibility to pursue any interest due to his scholarship and the self-assurance to choose any new academic road he wants to take. He seems clearer about where he sees himself in the next few years. Like most parents, our hopes for Samay are common—enjoy your college years; forge new relationships while maintaining old friendships; and of course, understand who you are and what you want to do. He became more assertive and sure of his goals while at the Fox School, worked harder towards his classes, made a lot of friends and became more confident in
himself.
