We hope you had a wonderful festive break and have a good feeling about 2023. We do and here's why. 2022 was an amazing year here at Meee. Thank you to you all for being a part of a truly magical year. Thank you for being so amazing. You spur us on more than you know and it’s because of everyone of you that we do what we do. You are our magic. And thank you for Sharing your magic, your love and your kindness. We are better because you make us want to be better. So for this new January we're dedicating to the fabulous world of Sharing. Here's to a Sharing January and 2023. x
Reflect On Past Achievements... Every New Year we load it with future plans, new objectives and a ton of change. Sadly most of those plans rarely happen. Or fritter away very quickly. So let's have a think about all the great and good stuff you did in 2022. Yes, it was challenging but it had some great highlights too. Grab a piece of paper or your phone or tablet and make a list of all the good things. One of ours is still being here! We lost some amazing people in 2022 and we know that they would want us to appreciate every day, regardless of how it is. Think of new connections, colleagues, friends, skills you learned, places you visited, foods you tasted...and things that you did for the first time. You'll be amazed about how many things you did do in 2022 (click on the link for a wonderful summary of last year!)...Don't ever give up on you :) x Share your thoughts and stories with others and maybe start a journal of the good stuff for 2023. In Chapter 03 of 'Meee In A Work Minute' Sid wrote “A journal is a written conversation with ourselves that can throw up some surprising truths, allowing us to see ourselves more clearly and honestly so we can engage genuinely with others”.
Folder Of Awesomeness...We were recently given a lovely compliment by a connection on LinkedIn. A lady called Simone re-shared a post that suggested keeping a 'Nice' folder. A place to store and celebrate moments of small and big wins that could be reviewed from time to time to remind us of our achievements. Simone commented that it made her think of Meee for all the love and positivity we spread to those in our community. She is calling her folder a 'Folder of Awesomeness'. How cool is that! But why keep the good stuff to ourselves? Let's take the time to share with others, share compliments, share moments of gratitude and celebration and help others fill their own 'Folders of Awesomeness'. We loves this great little film 'The Science of Kindness'. It's about the proven benefits of being kind and how it is contagious, teachable and makes you feel all fuzzy inside. Yes please!
The True Gift Of Sharing...This is such a lovely, lovely story of how to truly share your magic... I've been a fan of ABBA since they began, but I didn't know that despite selling millions of copies, their massive 1979 hit, Chiquitita, it has never earned them a penny. “We gave the copyright to Unicef”, its composer and founding member of Abba, Bjorn Ulvaeus, told the BBC. Written for Unicef's Year of the Child, Chiquitita - which means "Little Girl" in Spanish - was also the first song Abba recorded in Spanish, becoming a huge success across Latin America. From the start, Bjorn Ulvaeus says the band was clear about what they wanted the royalties to be used for. In the 43 years since its release, Chiquitita's royalties have been used to address some of the most complex issues affecting Central America - from extreme poverty and a generational culture of machismo to domestic violence and rape. Even alcohol abuse among marginalised, indigenous communities. “You don't think about the longevity!” he laughed. “You think”, “Well, I hope it'll be a hit and it'll be played a lot!”. “Never in my wildest dreams could I have expected it would be so long-lasting and bring in so much money. It's the best legacy anyone could wish for.” WOW!
From Small Shelf Under The Stairs To Successful Entrepreneur...Jan Cavelle is one of life's doers. She has dug deep, worked hard, adapted and grown on her journey. From not enjoying education at school and not knowing anything about business, Jan went on to have great success. In this #5 Just Meee podcast Jan talks about the reason she wanted to work for herself and how she became comfortable being who she was. What we love about Jan most is her passion to share her knowledge and lessons learnt with others to enable them to achieve success.
A Very Happy Birthday To...Winnie-the-Pooh's dad will be 141 on the 18th of January. We loves A.A.Milne and love all his stories of Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends. He shared the magic of the world through the eyes of his son, Christopher Robin. The themes of the stories centre around forming solid, lasting friendships, love, positive thinking, empathy and gratitude. I (Sid) loves to read Winnie-the-Pooh stories as often as I can, whether that's on my journey to work or at home, sharing all the adventures with my children. Happy Birthday Mr Milne and thank you.x And Winnie-the-Pooh loved balloons. Who doesn't! So this month's image is of balloons :) How about you try this great little exercise to get curious and find out what you can share: Draw a line around your hand on a piece of paper and in the middle write the word SHARE. At the top of each finger, write down a theme. This could be Gifts, Strengths, Skills, Resources or Contacts. Then under each theme, list as many items of your good stuff that you could share with others.x |
