What is your role at your organisation?
I am the Sole Director and Chairman. I take a day to day role and run the business in a ‘hands on’ capacity.
What are your key skills and responsibilities?
After being in the industry over 25 years, practical knowledge and experience are my strongest skills. I hold Board positions within our Industry Associations and would be regarded as one of the ‘old heads’.
How many people work at your business?
Depending on demand, the number varies between 20 and 35.
What is your favourite place in the precinct?
South Bank offers many diverse venues. From culture to restaurants to people watching, I enjoy them all. I particularly like the open kitchens that are beginning to appear.
What do you want BSB members to know about you or your business?
We are a family run business that survives on offering comfortable rooms, good service and hotel facilities located in close proximity to the CBD.
What is something people wouldn’t know about your business?
Our location.
What has recently happened at your organisation?
We hosted divisions of the QPS for G20. Our Conference Room facilities were staffed on a 24/7 basis for eight days in a lead up and during the G20.
What have you learnt lately?
Since the GFC, my main lesson is to NEVER be involved in investing in Business and relying on others to run the operation.
What do you hope to achieve in your industry?
Be a successful and profitable business giving good service and value to our clients.
What inspires you?
My family – in particular the grand kids, and my staff.
What are your words of wisdom?

‘If its not written, it didn’t happen’.
“Love your mother’.
