Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ

It is a pleasure to announce that at the Special Synod meeting on Saturday 9 February, members resolved to appoint the Rev Felicity Amery (Deacon) as General Secretary of the Presbytery and Synod of SA for an initial term of 5 years commencing on 1 May, 2019.

Felicity is currently the Chairperson/Presbytery Minister in the Pilgrim Presbytery of Northern Australia (this is the non-Indigenous Presbytery in the Northern Synod) and Dean of Students and Theology Teacher at Nungalinya College.

She has previously served as Chairperson/Presbytery Minister in the Hunter Presbytery and Resource Minister in Sydney's North Presbytery both within the Synod of NSW/ACT.

Felicity trained for ministry at Parkin-Wesley College (the forerunner to the Uniting College for Leadership and Theology). She was born and raised in Naracoorte and attended secondary school in Adelaide.

Felicity’s placement as General Secretary will commence on 1 May but with shifting leave, she will commence in the Synod office on 22 May.

I take this opportunity to thank you for your willingness to continue to serve the Church through this time of transition.

The Presbytery and Synod is looking forward to Felicity’s arrival. We pray for Felicity and her family as she relocates to Adelaide and prepares to undertake the ministry and mission God has called her to.

Grace and peace,

Rev Rob Brown
General Secretary
