Director's Message

We are very grateful that SA’s lockdown was of short duration and we can enjoy an almost normal way of life and study. The Grad Centre team are also back in the office, and our front counter is open Monday to Friday, 10am – 4pm.

Nevertheless, in line with SA Health guidelines, we advise that face masks are strongly recommended in shared or open plan spaces where you are working less than 1.5m distance away from other people. They should also be worn whenever you get up from your desk/bench to move around including when using amenities, printer spaces, corridors or meeting rooms, and in University common spaces such as the hubs, except when eating or drinking.

Did you know that there is a Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Information Network (SASHIN) on campus? If you are interested in reaching out to the network for information on supporting a student, or have questions about reporting processes, get in contact with the network member(s) for your Faculty or myself as the SASHIN member for HDRs. Close to submitting your thesis? Don’t forget to send us a photo of you celebrating your achievements when the big day arrives! We’ll post your photo in the Thesis Submission Gallery on our website and up on the AGC Twitter (don’t forget to provide your Twitter handle if you have one). Photos can be submitted via email.

Multi Factor Authentication login for Major Review and Annual Review online forms

On Wednesday 18 August, the login process for our online form for Major Review will change over to the new Multi Factor Authentication (Okta) process, whilst the online form Annual Review has already changed over to this process. Students and Internal Staff members can access these systems with their existing account if one has been created, otherwise they can register at the below link. External Staff members will be able to create an account to access these online forms via a separate system, with links to do so provided on the form login pages. For further information about Multi Factor Authentication (MFA), including a registration link and support information, please refer to MFA. If you experience any issues with login or registration, please contact ITDS Service desk on 08 8313 3000 or via email.

Postgraduate Scholarship Opportunities

The Adelaide Graduate Centre maintains a searchable database of available scholarship opportunities (both full scholarships and supplementary scholarships), funded by both the University of Adelaide and external funding bodies. While the majority of available scholarships are awarded as part of the standard admission and scholarship rounds for domestic and international students, some are awarded at different times throughout the year, and may have a separate application process.

Library Essentials for HDR students

Are you a new HDR and would like to know how the Library can assist you in your research? The newly developed Library Essentials for Higher Degree by Research students is now available online as a MyUni course. It is designed to provide you with an overview of the resources, services and training activities the Library has to offer.

This self-enrol and self-paced course not only showcases what the Library can do for you but will test what you discover with a series of knowledge checker activities. Completion of the course will earn you one CaRST point.

Free and confidential Disability Service

As a Postgraduate Student you are also eligible for assistance from the Disability Service if you have a disability or ongoing medical condition. Information about the nature of your disability is not disclosed – information obtained from you about the functional impact of the disability is shared with academic staff solely for the purpose of assisting you with your studies. Details relating to the Disability Service and the on line registration process can be found on the Disability website.
