You are receiving this newsletter as you have opted in to stay informed on the Willoughby Road streetscape upgrade.

Work began on Stage 2 of the Willoughby Road, Crows Nest streetscape upgrade in October 2023. This eNewletter aims to keep you informed on what is happening, when it is happening and who to speak to if you have any questions.

Upcoming works

The Willoughby Road upgrade project is quickly progressing as the main stormwater drainage works are now 100% complete. This work included new pits and pipes to drain surface stormwater into underground pipes..  Adverse weather has caused the project some minor delays but the project teams and contractors are working hard to mitigate further delays, ensuring the project stays on track.

The next key stages of the project are:

  • Footpath paving that began 11th June
  • Overhead electrical wires to be moved underground, leaving air space for future tree planting
  • Installation of new street lighting poles 50% complete by late July
  • Tree planting beginning late July

Impact to businesses

We acknowledge that the next few weeks of construction will be challenging to businesses, pedestrians and residents in the area. An example of this is the loud noise generated by pavers being saw cut. Council’s project team will be monitoring works closely and mitigating the impact to businesses where possible. We recognise that the Willoughby Road upgrade project is disruptive and invite the community to continue engaging directly with Council regarding concerns at the phone numbers below or via council@northsydney.nsw.gov.au
