Works set to flow in riverside transformation

Hovell Tree Drive will close from tomorrow when preliminary works for our new Riverside Precinct get under way. The project will deliver a whole new experience on the banks of the Murray - including a dock and boardwalk behind the Albury Swim Centre, and a new marketplace near the wood-fired ovens.

Campaign targets speeding

Speeders are being targeted in eight Albury streets, following community feedback to our Stop It Or Cop It program. Council and police are joining forces to encourage speeding drivers to slow down, for safety's sake.

New Qantas service takes off

Locals and visitors have given a warm welcome to new Albury-Brisbane Qantas flights that are providing a winter escape hatch for border travellers, and a gateway to the snow for Queensland visitors.

Pop-up fun keeps kids from getting 'board'

Skaters and scooter riders were jumping for joy this week when we opened a pop-up skate park in QEII Square. It was a way of providing kids with somewhere to skate while the new Regional Skate Park takes shape in David Street.

New care model for lost animals

The old pound is being transformed into the Albury Animal Care Centre to provide a more modern facility with increased comfort and care for animals looking for homes.
