Take a look behind the scene of the production The Art of Play a short film currently in production as part of the Certificate IV Screen & Media Studies course at Metro Screen. This selective course only accepts 15 students per year who are interested in film and content production, 80% of graduates from this course walk in to work in the local film, TV and digital content industries. Applications for the Group 2 intake running July 30 – 12 December 2012 are currently being accepted. Innovate Subsidy Projects

The two $5000 winning projects of the Innovate production subsidies have been awarded to Max Hemmings & Arie Hirsh for his script ‘You Take The High Road’ and Jasper Marlow for ‘The Hand That Feeds’. A third runner up subsidy of $2000 was also awarded to Guy Verge-Wallace towards his colourful animation project.

Introduction to Screenwriting 26 June – 7 August
This course allows participants to develop an understanding of effective storytelling, dialogue and industry standard formatting. Learn how to hone your story concept into a work that is compelling and unique. Develop solid techniques to help with characterisation, genre and plot types.

Directing Actors Masterclass 7 - 8 July
This two day intensive workshop explores the process of working with actors from casting to shoot. Throughout the workshop, you will look at the Director’s role and responsibility to actors and learn hints and tips on how to work with actors to tease out their best performance.
