Rick Steves’ Europe Foundation Funds Equity Grant
|
|
| |
The Foundation has received a $5,000 Racial Equity Grant from Rick Steves’ Europe Foundation in partnership with the Edmonds School District. The grant funds continuation of work begun by the district last year to create a racially and culturally inclusive learning community for all students. This is the second $5,000 Racial Equity Grant awarded to the Foundation.
“These funds help us continue our work in serving schools and increasing awareness and opportunities that are diverse and inclusive,” said Dr. Kimberlee Armstrong, Executive Director of Equity & Public Relations. It takes a village to keep this work going and we are grateful for the village that surrounds us.”
This work is now considered best practice among educators and has been shared at state and national conferences including the Association of Washington School Principals Equity Conference and the National School Public Relations Association’s annual meeting.

Planned Gifts Leave a Legacy
When people hear the words “planned giving” they often think of a gift that requires a lot of wealth. But, in fact, anyone can make charitable donations through planned giving in a way that compliments their assets, income needs and giving goals. Planned gifts are contributions to a cherished non-profit that can be made now, provide income, or occur sometime in the future. A financial advisor can explain the options, and most are simple and affordable. The Foundation’s Legacy Circle recognizes individuals and families who have chosen to support our mission through a planned gift. If you would like to learn more, contact Deborah Brandi by email or phone at 425.431.7260.
