Click here Updates to HVAC Residential Rebate Application Cost Breakouts As you’re aware, the 2017 Residential HVAC rebate application requires that the materials and labor costs be split out. We understand that the industry generally does not itemize the equipment and labor charges in many residential installations due to a variety of competitive pressures and customer service issues. For contractors who currently itemize the materials and labor costs, please continue to do so. Going forward, for applications which do not show the cost breakdown between material and labor, MidAmerican Energy Company will use an average Midwest labor cost (based on data from RSMeans) and the average number of installation hours per type of equipment, as determined from discussions with contractors in our service areas. MidAmerican Energy will enter these costs in its tracking system. Example: Replacement Furnace Information entered into MidAmerican Energy system: *Labor cost calculation: 12 hours X $60/hour = $720 In order to ensure the integrity of the data, we ask that services above and beyond the ‘normal’ installation be noted on the invoice.
