Click here New energy efficiency legislation in Iowa On May 4, 2018, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed an energy bill that will change energy efficiency spending and result in savings for MidAmerican Energy Company customers. The bill ensures that MidAmerican Energy can continue to offer a robust set of energy efficiency programs in Iowa at a reasonable cost. MidAmerican Energy will file a revised Iowa energy efficiency five-year plan with the Iowa Utilities Board. Goals for the 2019-2023 plan are as follows:
MidAmerican Energy is currently working to finalize the programs and measures that will be included in the revised 2019-2023 plan; more information will be released when available. Additionally, MidAmerican Energy is committed to continue offering the current 2018 energy efficiency programs throughout the remainder of the year. This may result in changes to the timeframes that were shared during our 2017 trade ally meetings for rebate application submittals, home and business assessments, and applications for bonus rebates.
