As we’re all aware, the situation with COVID-19 is rapidly evolving. Today the Prime Minister announced New Zealand is now on an Alert Level 3 and in 48 hours we will be moving to Alert Level 4. You can find the update by our Prime Minister here New Zealand is currently at Alert Level Three and will move into Alert Level Four after 48 hours.Alert One - PREPARE: Disease is contained Alert Two - REDUCE: Disease is contained but risks of community transmission growing Alert Three - RESTRICT: Heightened risk that disease is not contained Alert Four - ELIMINATE: Likely that disease is not contained Our Unitec campuses will close for four weeks from Wednesday 25 March. This includes the cafes and shops in Te Puna, the library and all facilities at our Waitākere campus. Security will be monitoring the campuses closely. What this means for studentsAll teaching and assessments have been suspended for four days from 5pm this evening, Monday 23 March. This means there will be no classes (live-streamed or face to face) for four days while our teaching staff make final preparations for activating online study. Students should use this time for self-directed study. Accessing Online ClassesOnline teaching will start from Monday 30 March. Alternative arrangements will be made for the small number of courses where components can’t be taught online. Where possible, classes will be taught as per the current timetable using either Zoom or Echo360. If you haven't already, familiarise yourself with the remote learning software.
