Orientation Day

Four times a year, the International Centre organises an Orientation Day for newly arrived PhD students, postdoctoral scholars, International Staff and their spouses. The Orientation Day programme is comprised of practical information about living and working in Denmark and a formal welcoming and talk. Additionally, the day ends with socialisation and dinner. Orientation day is a great opportunity for those looking to acquire knowledge about basic practicalities as well as meeting international peers. International Academic Staff Service (IAS) closing days in the following weeks

The International Academic Staff Service (IAS) (including the Guest Researcher Support) at International Centre will be closed on the following days:

- Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd of March due to seminar
- Thursday 28th, Friday 29th of March and Monday 1st of April due to Easter Holidays

The IAS-staff will not be available on these days.

Tax assessment notice is ready

The tax assessment notice from SKAT (the tax authorities) is now ready online in your personal tax folder. The figures in your tax assessment notice are based on your personal tax information and relate to the previous assessment year. Your tax assessment notice states your income, tax allowances, deductions and taxes paid the previous year. And in accordance with the information in your tax information, your tax assessment notice includes a calculation of your tax payments in the previous year, and will state if you have paid too much or too little. If you have paid too much tax, SKAT will credit any overpaid tax to your Nemkonto (Easy Account). For more information on this and other tax related topics, contact SKAT.

Help us get in contact with your landlord

New international colleagues are always arriving at Aarhus University and they all face the common and sometimes daunting problem of finding a place to call home. For this reason, if you are leaving and have enjoyed staying in your apartment, then we need your help to encourage your landlord to contact us. This, in order to try help fill the vacancy that you leave behind with another AU international colleague. Read more about this way to help a fellow international here or get your landlord to contact the International Housing Office via email or their website.

Student sponsorship from Aarhus Academy for Global Education

If you have children attending Aarhus Academy for Global Education (AAGE), they might be elegible for the student sponsorship. Refer to this guideline and our news item for the complete list of details.

New double taxation agreement with China

On 1 January 2013 a new double taxation agreement with China became effective. After this date, Chinese researchers, trainees and research fellows who have already been given the tax exemption will be now liable for taxation.
