Residency Faculty Fundamentals' First Year Highlights
The Residency Faculty Fundamentals Certificate Program was launched last June to provide online training for residency faculty. In its first year, 175 faculty, residents, and practicing physicians enrolled in the program and 18 have completed the course and received their certificate of completion and a letter of accomplishment which was sent to their program director. STFM Endorses Obesity CompetenciesThe Obesity Medicine Education Collaborative (OMEC) competencies, endorsed by STFM, were created to support training programs in the implementation of the obesity competencies in addition to providing a reliable assessment of the performance of the competencies. The goal is to promote, disseminate, and improve comprehensive obesity medicine education across the continuum of medical education for medical providers such as physicians, physician
assistants, and nurse practitioners. STFM members were instrumental in helping develop the competencies.
FMAHealth to Launch a Health Equity Curricular ToolkitThe Family Medicine for America's Health (FMAHealth) Health Equity Tactic Team has made significant strides in the development of a Health Equity Curricular Toolkit, a teaching resource for medical schools, residencies, and other organizations to use as a model for teaching health equity topics. The effort is being spearheaded by STFM member Jennifer Edgoose, MD, MPH, and fellow Core Team Member Sarah Davis,
