Townhome Definition Bill Moves Forward
|
A long-time industry priority moved out of the House Commerce Committee this afternoon. If signed into law, HF 792 would align the definition of a townhome with the national code and remove the sprinkler requirement currently placed on twin homes. This bill is a continuation of the BATC v. DLI court case that invalidated the sprinkler mandate for 1 and 2-family homes. BATC’s James Vagle testified in support of the bill, which passed out of committee on a voice vote and now advances to the House Energy, Environment, and Jobs
Committee.
