Latest Update...
[14th November 2019 ]
Works continue to progress through phase 9 of the 11 phase programme.
The demolition phase of works has completed, apart from localised minor demolition works, meaning work should be less disruptive as we have now progressed to construction.
The installation of large granite blocks will continue until the end of November. This will form the ramped steps through the court. The installation requires heavy machinery to safely manoeuver the blocks in to place. This may cause some disruption to Tower Avenue and the surrounding buildings.
Upper level localised works to the parapet wall, copings and render are continuing, but will cause no issues with access. Soffits installation is underway to commercial units and the remaining electrical installation is also ongoing, but should not cause disruption. These elements of works are hoped to be completed by the end of November.
There will be further asphalting works required to the ramp and this will be undertaken between the 25th and 27th November, including around the balcony adjacent to the Spar. There may be smells during this period that are not harmful to health. This work may restrict access slightly around the entrance to the Spar and control measures will be put in place if required.
The possibility of weekend working is being explored in order to speed up the completion process on the upper level. Further updates on this will follow as details become clear.
If you are experiencing problems with noise or any other impact caused by the works, please report this to us via your Departmental Officer or line manager.
More information about the project is available online.
[The next update is expected on Wednesday 27th November.]
