Old Scholars Celebrate 125 Years of Saints GirlsOur last day of Term 2, Friday 28 June, was a significant chapter in our 125th anniversary year as we welcomed over 230 Old Scholars to celebrate our history and St Peterstide. The day commenced with a morning School Tour, whereby a number of small groups were led by our Year 9 event leaders on a journey throughout the buildings and grounds to highlight all of our new and exciting projects and facilities. Our Old Scholars then joined with the School community for the traditional St Peterstide Eucharist. It was an honour to have Sister Linda Mary CSC assist with our service. The 125th Anniversary Lunch for Old Scholars in the Arts Centre was the first time in many years we had hosted an event such as this at Saints. More than 120 Old Scholars enjoyed champagne and a two course lunch with entertainment provided by our talented Music students, featuring a stunning vocal performance by Emma Kavanagh (Kilburn ’14). 125th commemorative merchandise was for sale as well as the popular Bottle Tombola. The Arts Centre was then transformed to host the Old Scholars’ Reunion Cocktail Evening where more than 100 Old Scholars enjoyed drinks and delicious canapés - thanks to catering by Holly Dossor (Kilburn '99) - whilst reminiscing over photo boards. A reflective Memories of Saints Girls multimedia presentation provided many smiles, laughs and cheers for the featured alumni - 2014, 2009, 2004,1999,1994,1989,1979,1969,1959 and 1949 - some of whom went on to continue their celebration together. Megan McCormack (nee Walker, Kilburn ’86) 'A Touch of Blue''A Touch of Blue' for our younger Old Scholars was held on Friday 3 May on the Library Deck. Our graduates from 2015 - 2018 had a fantastic time enjoying canapés and drinks whilst catching up with each other. This was the first event on the OSA calendar for our most recent graduates. The evening continued with a fun ride on the school bus to the Feathers Hotel. 'Saints in Style' Showcases Old ScholarsThe 'Saints in Style' cabaret on Friday 24 May was a fabulous night to showcase the musical talent of our School community. It was so special in celebrating our 125th anniversary to welcome our Old Scholar guest artists to perform solos as well as collaborate with the students. Many thanks to Sophie Rowell (Kilburn ’92), Emma Kavanagh (Kilburn ’14), Erin McKellar (Patteson ’13), Meena De Silva (Kilburn ’13) and Chelsea McGuinness (Kilburn ’16) for their stunning performances as well as our MC, Leah McLeod (Kilburn ’88). What a memorable, entertaining night! Take a look: Old Scholars' at Year 12 RetreatThe annual Year 12 Retreat was again a wonderful opportunity for our Old Scholars to strengthen ties with the current student body. Our Old Scholars attended the Stamford Grand Hotel on Friday 28 June as guest speakers to share with the students their journey post-school and impart their words of wisdom about how to finish Year 12 on a high. Special thanks to (pictured L to R) Maddie Lamb (Patteson ’13), Lucy Mount (Selwyn ’15), Melanie Stevens (Kennion ’13), Ashley Adair (Kennion ’12) and Alana Coppock (Kilburn ’11) for sharing your valuable advice, experiences and strategies for success!
