Annual Reporting

Submit by 31 March to be an Award Winner

Thank you to all the signatories who have already completed their annual reports for this current reporting period, and are now in the running to be an award winner and receive tickets to our awards nights mid-2015!   Only reports received by 31 March will be in the running to receive an award.  Details on last year’s winners and their achievements can be found on the APC website.

Unique links to the online reporting tool have been emailed to all signatories who are expected to report. If you did not receive or have misplaced your link, please email apc@packagingcovenant.org.au. Signatories who did not have an accepted action plan in place as of 30 April 2014 are not required to report in 2015.

Resources are available to support you in preparing your report. You may wish to review the APC Reporting Help Video, the Guide to Quality Reporting, or contact a member of the Member Services team.

Business Clean Up Day

Sign-ups are coming in thick and fast, but we’d like to remind everyone that Business Clean Up Day is fast approaching!

As part of our commitment to reducing litter in the environment, the APC recommends that all signatories participate in a community clean-up on a regular basis.  In fact, we encourage you to clean up every day!  But if you’re waiting for a specific event, 24 February is Business Clean Up Day, run by Clean Up Australia.  This is a great opportunity for your organisation to work together while spending a couple of hours cleaning up a site of your choice.  Registering a site is easy and generates great team morale – you can do it via: http://www.cleanupaustraliaday.org.au/register/.

As in previous years, there are prizes to be won for signatories who go above and beyond.  This year’s categories are:

1. The organisation that collects the largest number of full bags per participant (photographs required!)

2. The organisation with the highest number of employees relative to turnover (as declared to the APC)

This year’s prizes will consist of four tickets to our Annual Awards Nights for each winning organisation, and a $1000 Replas voucher. In the spirit of product stewardship, the winners of these vouchers will be encouraged to donate them to the local school, community group or sporting team of their choice.  You can see what last year’s winners, Sanitarium and Baiada, achieved here.

For further information, please contact Georgia Carthey or visit the Business Clean Up Day website.

APC funding provides recycling trailers in regional Victoria

Hindmarsh and West Wimmera shire councils now have recycling trailers for use at community events.

The public place recycling trailers have been provided through funding from Sustainability Victoria, the Australian Packaging Covenant and Grampians Central West Waste and Resource Recovery Group.

The purpose-built trailers will hold 15 240-litre wheelie bins that can be loaded and unloaded via a ramp, delivered recycling facilities where no fixed recycling infrastructure or designated services are in place.
