No business like snow business as Qantas flies in

Winter tourism will be the winner when Qantas begins Brisbane-Albury flights this ski season. It's a great vote of confidence in the airport and our tourism sector and as well as being good news for the local economy, it also offers locals a chance to fly north for winter.

And the band plays on ...

Our LibraryMuseum team has delved deep into the archives to unearth this image of the the Albury Town Band, possibly taken in front of the former Mechanics Institute in the 1890s. The band first formed around 1867.  Bands were in high demand during the “Golden Years” of the late 1800s and early 1900s, and the Albury Town Band entertained regularly at Noreuil Park, the Botanic Gardens and also played for late night shoppers in town.  The band has had several incarnations and name changes over the years, including the Albury Brass Band, the Volunteer Band and Albury Band.
