Reflection

Yesterday was the feast day of St Patrick. This is one of St Patrick’s prayers:

Christ be with me and within me.
Christ be behind me and before me.
Christ be beside me to comfort me and restore me.
Christ be below and above me in peace and in danger.
Christ be within the hearts of all who love me.
Christ be in the words of friend and stranger.

Greg's Message

Dear Parents and Friends of St Anne’s

Last Sunday we had our first working bee for the year, and I was delighted by the massive turnout of families. It was great to see parents, students, former students and staff (Dee McDonnell, Tara Smith, Lisa Redmond and Antonella Liberale) “pitching” in assisting our school. In total 20 families attended the working bee. Some of the tasks completed included weeding, pruning, repairing buddies bench, relocating benches, moving small, loose branches from the presbytery front yard to the dumper, reattaching ball net on middle and tidying up of some internal areas of the school. I appreciate the generosity of spirit demonstrated by families and staff; special thanks to Syl Longo for coordinating the working bee.
This Wednesday (March 17) and Thursday (March 25) we have our Open Days for prospective new enrolments from 9:15am until 11am. If you know of a family who has a child about to start Foundation or any other year level next year please promote these days. Thank you.

Twilight Sports

TWILIGHT SPORTS
FRIDAY 19th MARCH 4:45pm - 7:15pm
ST ANNE'S SCHOOL

Pack your chairs, air your picnic rugs and stretch those muscles….the Twilight Sports is happening again in Term 1 at St. Anne’s Primary School.

This event is a much anticipated evening by the whole school. It is an evening where the children, with their families, get together for races, food and fun. We invite families to bring along a picnic basket on the night.

The children will meet at their house flags and will then rotate through the activities. The rotations will run from 5:00pm - 7:00pm, though we ask that the children are at the track from 4:45pm, dressed in their sport shorts and sport top or a top in the colour of their house.  The children should bring a drink bottle and school hat to take with them on their rotations. The evening should finish by 7:15pm.

ST ANNE’S BASKETBALL CLUB

NEW PLAYERS WELCOME + BALL SKILLS PROGRAM!

St Anne’s Basketball Club is looking for more players to add to some of its existing teams and to potentially start new teams for Year 2 students.

We are also offering our Ball Skills program for new basketballers during Terms 2 and 3 of 2021.

Please speak to us if your child is keen to start basketball!

We are a family based club and have 17 teams comprised of mainly current and former St Anne’s students playing in the Basketball Hawthorn competition, ranging in age groups from Under 9’s to U23’s.  Games are played on Saturdays (and Sundays for older teams) at venues throughout Boroondara.

The Ball Skills sessions will run on Tuesday nights at 6pm at Kew East Primary School for the remaining weeks of Term 1 and then in Terms 2 and 3.  The aim of the sessions is for the children to be ready to commence playing in a team in the 2021/2022 Summer Season for SABC which starts in Term 4 (or in the Winter Season if they are currently in Year 2 or older) .  We welcome boys and girls to the sessions.

Once we know the level of interest we will provide more details.

Please register your interest by calling Tom Lynch SABC Boy’s Co-ordinator on 0418 813 773 or Sarah Lethlean Club Secretary (mother of Will in Year 4) on 0438 364 709 or by emailing secretary@stannesbc.com.au.

We are keen to hear from you, as we are currently taking registrations for the Winter Season!
