Following the Prime Minister's announcement yesterday, the country has now moved to Alert Level 1. There are currently no active cases and no new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the last 18 days. As outlined on the COVID-19 website, under Alert Level 1, everyone can return without restriction to work, school, sports and domestic travel, and you can gather with as many people as you want. There will no longer be any physical distancing restrictions. Health and SafetyPlease take a moment to read the following information for your return to campus. It takes approx. 5 minutes and covers Alert Level 1 principles, information for while on campus, personal health and contact tracing (also below). Once you have read this, please confirm that you have by completing the online form. Contact TracingUnitec recommends the use of the Contact Tracer App in addition to any personal record of where you have been as encouraged by the Government. You can log in using the Contact Tracer App found on Unitec computers in Social Commons (B510) and Te Puna (B180) and also located outside Break Time (B180). ClassesPlease continue to check announcements on Moodle for latest updates and any changes in how your classes will be delivered. At this stage, classes will continue to teach mixed delivery online until the end of the month. Te Puna Waiora Health and Counselling ServicesTe Puna Waiora Medical Centre has been operating throughout the entire lockdown period. They are now able to hold appointments in person. Study WeekFor most of you, it's study week and we understand many students will be busy preparing to submit final assignments and getting ready for exams. The Library Study rooms are available to book for those who require them, and our quiet study areas will be open and available for use also. This means washing and drying your hands regularly and thoroughly; coughing or sneezing into your elbow; and staying at home if you don’t feel well. These are good, sensible habits to keep, despite the existence of Alert Levels, and will help us all preserve the gains we’ve made over the past few months.
