AT METRO SCREEN'S PUBLIC FORUM: YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN KID

Screen Australia has stated that there is already more than enough support for emerging filmmakers and will no longer fund Metro Screen and other Screen Network organisations around the country.  The revised Talent Escalator program (minus $400k) is open only to those with top shelf festival credits.

These cuts are an effective dismantling of the talent incubation pathways that feed and enrich Australia’s screen industry.

The forum aims to discuss the immediate impact of Screen Australia’s cuts on Metro Screen and the emerging screen community it serves.

If it’s not the federal agency’s role to provide base-level support for emerging filmmakers across the country, then whose is it?

Is there anything that can be done to fix the broken pathway?

Discussion will be led by an industry panel concerned about the future of the emerging screen sector.

We’re holding a PUBLIC FORUM to talk about where we go from here and we want you there.

When: Tuesday 2nd September, 6pm
Where: Chauvel Cinema, Paddington Town Hall

Register to attend, spread the word and get connected;
