has been prepared by the Water Security Advisory Group (WSAG), a group of community and stakeholder representatives established last year to investigate future water sources. “Water is our most valuable resource and, with a growing population, shoring up adequate water supply to meet growing demand over the next 30 years has got to be a priority,” Mayor Bob Manning said. “This was a big job that required the expertise of people from a range of stakeholder organisations. I congratulate the group on producing such a thorough report.” “In the longer term, we still see the potential
need for a new dam but the WSAG preferred strategy suggests there are other options that can be implemented in the meantime. Our next step is to thoroughly evaluate each of these initiatives to determine any limitations and impacts,” Cr Manning said. Read more
