Dear Partner,

The University of Tasmania (UTAS) is offering a AU $1,000 Relocation Bursary to assist international students with the costs of moving to Tasmania. Our Relocation Bursary gives you the opportunity to put extra cash in your students’ pockets so they can get their studies off to a great start!

What do they get?

The Relocation Bursary for International Students in Australia gives eligible students $1,000 towards the costs of moving to Tasmania from anywhere in the world (even Tasmania).

Who is eligible?

International students will be paid the $1,000 Relocation Bursary, after S1, 2017 census date, provided they:

  • are enrolling in any University of Tasmania full-fee paying, coursework degree or diploma*;
  • are commencing full-time study in semester 1, 2017;
  • accept their offer after the 7th of November, 2016; and
  • stay enrolled past the semester 1, 2017 census date
It doesn’t matter whether the student is enrolling in an undergraduate or masters by coursework degree – as long as it is an eligible degree (see below) All eligible students are automatically considered, so a separate application is not necessary.

Who is NOT eligible?

  • Current UTAS international students (including current ELICOS and FSP students);
  • Students who accepted an offer to commence studies at UTAS in S1, 2017 on the 7th of November 2016 or earlier;
  • Students enrolling in Master of Professional Accounting, Master of Professional Accounting (Specialisation) or Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees; or
  • Students who accept another of UTAS’s generous scholarships (such as the 25% Tasmanian International Scholarship or other relocation bursaries (such as those offered by the Faculty of Health).

Students who qualify for the relocation bursary will be sent a confirmation email after semester 1, 2017 census date, which will outline instructions for deposit of funds into their Australian bank account.

Please do not hesitate to contact me by replying to this email if you have any questions about this fantastic new offering.

Kind regards,
