Did you know there’s 1,500 hectares of open space in your backyard?

Glenthorne National Park is the Liberal Party’s vision to bring various portions of land, from O’Halloran Hill Recreation Park, through to Happy Valley Reservoir and the Field River Valley under one management structure to preserve and revitalise this priceless open space.

Bigger than Belair National Park, this land has the potential to be your new backyard! Acres of rolling land with high environmental and recreational potential.

Central to the National Park will be Glenthorne Farm, a 208 hectare piece of land sitting between Majors Road, South Road and the Southern Expressway. For too long this area been locked behind a fence, inaccessible to local residents.

Our plan will see Glenthorne Farm protected for future generations and opened up for people to enjoy; walking, biking, picnicking and camping will all be possibilities in this area. We foresee large scale revegetation, creating the ‘lungs of the south’ and an incredible habitat for animal and bird life.

We also want to open up of Happy Valley Reservoir for recreational activities such as fishing, sailing and kayaking. This is the norm in other states and will be a fantastic to see happen in South Australia.

I want to hear what you think of this vision and what your ideas are for Glenthorne National Park: your new backyard.

Head to www.glenthorne.com.au to find out more and tell me what you think!
