This year, the Graduate Student Organization of the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences will recognize three Graduate Student Teaching Assistants or Instructors for excellence in graduate student teaching. All undergraduates are eligible to submit nominations. Nominated graduate students are then invited by the Teaching Award Committee to apply for the award.

Several faculty members in the Psychiatry Department of the Massachusetts General Hospital are currently accepting applications for an undergraduate clinical research intern. This is a paid internship opportunity (10 hours per week) for students who are the first in their family to go to college, and/or would be the first in their family to go to graduate school or medical school. We are seeking highly motivated and organized students majoring in psychology or a related social science who are looking to gain clinical research experience while working as part of a research team. 

The teams’ research spans a variety of topics in psychology and psychiatry, including substance use, mobile health (i.e., public health supported by mobile devices), depression treatment, positive psychology, mindfulness-based approaches to support health behaviors, resilience, illness prevention, survivorship, early dementia, sleep disorders, and food intake disorder. Please check out the faculty profile links listed below for more details about specific research interests. Intern tasks may involve but are not limited to maintaining, organizing, and analyzing datasets; testing technology pieces used in research projects (e.g., surveys, smartphone apps); assisting with study eligibility screening procedures and participant retention; engaging in qualitative data coding tasks; and contributing to literature reviews for papers, grants, and other projects. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in weekly journal club meetings or career development presentations designed to enhance the experience of reading research papers or learning more about specific career paths and lessons learned by trainees or faculty, respectively, both hosted by the Health through Flourishing lab.

Interns will also have access to other educational opportunities provided by MGH and Harvard Medical School (e.g., the MGH
Psychiatry Department Grand Rounds presentations).

The ideal candidate has an interest in psychological and/or psychiatric research and is planning on pursuing a graduate degree in psychology or psychiatry in the future. Familiarity with Zoom, Microsoft Office, REDCap, Endnote, SAS, and SPSS (or other statistical software) is a plus. The desire to learn and the ability to function as part of a team is a must.

Dr. Stephanie Stepp’s lab in the Department of Psychiatry is hiring up to 4 undergraduate research assistants/data processors for paid summer positions supporting NIH-funded research studies. Responsibilities may include data processing, data entry, quality control, participant support tasks, and other general research activities.

This is a great opportunity for students interested in gaining research experience before applying to graduate school or pursuing careers in psychology, psychiatry, medicine, or related fields. Preference will be given to students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and some prior research experience. Strong students may also have the opportunity to continue beyond the summer.

Brave Explorers Camp is a growing program that provides evidence-based treatment for children with selective mutism, incorporating exposure techniques and enriching activities to enhance speech and social skills. Camp week will run from August 10th to August 14th, daily from 8 AM to 4 PM, at the Tilden School in West Seattle. We’re excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for practicum students and prospective interns looking to develop valuable skills in the field of psychology. Below is a brief description of what each role entails:

    Practicum Students: Gain clinical experience as a camp counselor by engaging in exposure activities and clinical operations. You will be paired 1:1 with a client and will be their individual support throughout the day.

    Interns: We are looking for strong undergraduate students who are able to take initiative. As an intern you will contribute to camp procedures through preparatory and logistical assistance. Please note: hands-on clinical work is not a guarantee.

How It Works

• Apply in your third year as a qualified Pitt undergraduate.
• Open to students in Dietrich, College of General Studies, School of Public Health, SHRS, and SCI (Pittsburgh campus).
• Take graduate courses in your fourth year while completing your remaining undergraduate requirements.
• Graduate with your bachelor’s degree at the end of year four and your master’s degree at the end of year five.

The Northwestern University Adolescent Development and Preventive Treatment (ADAPT) program and the Institute for Adolescent Mental Health and Well-Being (IMAH) are seeking
applications for a lab manager.

The successful applicants will join a team of lab managers and project coordinators responsible for overseeing undergraduate research assistants, coordinating research projects (recruiting,

We are looking for a highly motivated, independent student to join our team in late July or early August as a full-time psychology assistant here at Bradley Hospital, an affiliated hospital of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. The position is for the Children’s Partial Hospital Program at our East Greenwich, RI site.

The Children's Partial Hospital Program (CPHP) at Bradley Hospital is a specialized program that provides comprehensive evaluation and intensive treatment for children ages 7 through 12 and their families. The primary goal of the program is to help children safely live at home while offering children and their families the opportunity to work on emotional, social, and behavioral difficulties that occur at home and in the community.

– Looking to pursue a doctorate in Clinical Psychology

– Interested in exposure to acute psychiatric care in a large children’s psychiatric center

Our psychology assistant administers admission and discharge assessments to children ages 7-12, as a well as supplemental diagnostic assessment to families and children, maintaining a large database in REDCAP and working on research projects. Patients have a broad range of mental health conditions ad presentations, and the PA also assists on the therapeutic milieu. Research topics include childhood adversity, parent and child emotion dysregulation, parenting, and sleep health.

This position provides exposure to a broad range of responsibilities to expose them to all aspects of a career as a Clinical Psychologist in an Academic Medical Center setting. Duties include preparing study materials, coordinating study-related IRB paperwork, conducting data analyses, assisting with manuscript preparation, coordinating and conducting assessments, and more!

Qualifications for this position include: – Undergraduate BA or BS psychology or related degree

Interest in pursuing graduate education in clinical psychology – Passionate about working with children, ability to work independently, be detail-oriented, and communicate efficiently – Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word – Knowledge of SPSS and REDCAP.
