Honors in the Major Confirmations As the new academic year is in full swing, NSC would like to update its current listing for new and continuing faculty members' honors in the major research/creative topics. To assist with this process, Shameika Daye asks that everyone please review their current topics (if previously submitted) and either confirm that they would like the listing to remain the same or provide her with any changes they would like to make at this time. If you are a new faculty member, please email Shameika your topics so that you may be added to the listing. Please email your confirmation or updated topics to Shameika by Tuesday, Oct. 31. Sponsor David Gramradt's Buddy Walk Team - Oct. 21 Join NSC's David Gramradt and his daughter Devlyn, for the Down Syndrome Buddy Walk at 8:30 a.m., Oct. 21 at Lake Eola Park. This event will help raise awareness for down syndrome and help support the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida. You can sponsor team "Devlyn's Den" by donating below. All donations go directly to the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida which provides funding to programs that help support families. Intern Pursuit Intern Pursuit 2017 will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19 in the Student Union's Pegasus Ballroom. The journalism portion of the Intern Pursuit event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. The Ad/PR portion of Intern Pursuit will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The Marchiolo Collective Impact Innovation Award Oct. 27 The Marchioli Collective Impact Innovation Award rewards one faculty or staff member each semester with a $5,000 cash or grant prize for their innovative program or project that demonstrates measurable outcomes related to at least one priority metric from the Collective Impact Strategic Plan and can be scaled to maximize our impact). The Fall 2017 deadline for nominations is 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27. High Impact Practices Student Coaches Available Integrating high impact practices into your curriculum has never been easier. UCF faculty are invited to utilize HIP student coaches for facilitating HIP practices during the Spring 2018 semester. If you would like to participate, click on button below. Leadership Week 2018 Call for Proposals - Nov. 1 The LEAD Scholars Academy invites individuals to share their leadership knowledge and experience with the UCF campus during Leadership Week 2018. The committee is looking for workshops/sessions that will challenge and inspire the campus community and showcase current leadership topics. Please complete the program proposal form by Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017. Program proposals will be evaluated and presenters will be notified by November 8, 2017. Diversity Week 2017 Monday, Oct. 16 kicks off Diversity Week 2017. Diversity Week activities, such as the Undergraduate Student Diversity Panel, advised by Dr. Christine Hanlon at 12:30 p.m., Wed. Oct. 18 in the Student Union room 221, Garden Key, are intended to stimulate our campus and move us to a more inclusive culture. Take the Collective Impact Community Challenge - Nov. 17 The UCF Collective Impact Community Challenge, is a new initiative looking for individuals or teams to lead change in a significant community challenge. The initiative or project must address local problems that also have national or global implications, such as hunger, public health or homelessness.
