This year, with the help of generous gifts from donors that included both the Hazel Miller Foundation and alumni, the Foundation awarded $91,100 in scholarships to Edmonds School District’s graduating seniors and alumni. We recently heard from one recipient, Vesta Baumgartner who was awarded the Eda Harless Memorial Scholarship, on just what it means to her:

Celebrate Schools 5K Run/Walk

Show your community spirit and raise funds to support our schools! Grab your family, friends, neighbors or colleagues, lace up your sneakers and form a team for our ninth annual Celebrate Schools 5K Run/Walk sponsored by Virginia Mason, and presented by General Growth Properties and the City of Lynnwood.

Schools, businesses and other community groups create teams and collect pledges. Schools keep 100% of pledges collected through their team page, and they compete with other schools for portions of the event proceeds. Pledges raised by businesses and other community teams will go to support all Foundation programs benefitting our schools. Create a team and start recruiting members today. Registration is now open!

Cookies for Kids
Chick-fil-A – Lynnwood
September 1 – 30

Go ahead, treat yourself and your kids to a cookie at Chick-fil-A, and while you’re there, grab a meal! Throughout the month of September, Chick-fil-A in Lynnwood will donate 25 cents from each cookie purchased to the Foundation as part of its Cookies for Kids program. When you dine at Chick-fil-A, and know that you are supporting the Foundation all month long.

Shop at Whole Foods Lynnwood on Wednesday, September 20, and they will donate 5% of your purchases to the Foundation for Edmonds School District.  Shop to support all the Foundation’s programs including classroom and schoolwide grants, bridging the digital divide, test fees and afterschool study programs.

Is a new car in your future? Test drive a car, and support the Foundation! We are thrilled to be a part of Campbell Auto Group’s Test Drive 4 Kids campaign. Between September 1 and October 31, Campbell Auto Group will donate $50 to the Foundation for every test drive of a new Volkswagen or Nissan at their Edmonds or Everett Showrooms. Be sure to select the Foundation for Edmonds School District from the list of charities participating.
